[On Fridays, I’ll be sharing one easy, fun idea or link that I hope adds a little more joy to your day.]
Today, I’m sharing the Allure Best of Beauty 2020 award winners.
I don’t always or even usually read through these lists… at least not in the last few years (although I used to love the annual Self Beauty Awards back in the day) but somehow I came across this one and it really had some gems … so I had to share!
If you are looking for a little inspiration, or looking for a specific product recommendation, here’s the full list: https://www.allure.com/story/best-of-beauty-awards-2020
It’s broken down into 10 categories:
- Breakthroughs (my personal favorite part of the list!!)
- Skin
- Hair
- Body
- Clean
- Makeup
- Steals
- Splurges
- Scent
- Tools
Also – at the top of each category, there’s a link to “read (their) reviews” which I loved! It really breaks down why they picked each product instead of just giving you the picture and link to the product. It’s so fun to read what exactly they loved about specific products …. and I think that by reading their descriptions you get a sense of how truly great a product is … and which ones may have stood out a little more than others. 😉
Personally, I really loved reading through the “breakthroughs” sections. Omg did it deliver! There were cool ideas about stick-on mani’s made by 3-D printers that I may try for an upcoming holiday. They also had false lashes that stick onto your eyelid vs. gluing onto your lashes. And so far, my personal fav is the L’Oreal Paris Elvive 8 Second Wonder Water that’s currently about $9 per bottle. Wow, I don’t know what’s in this stuff, but you just shampoo & rinse your hair, then follow up by putting this on your ends for 8 seconds, and rinsing. You can also follow up with a conditioner if you’d like (which I did). All I can say is wow! It’s like immediately having a super smoothing serum/oil applied to your hair except that it doesn’t make it feel greasy at all. I blow-dried my hair afterwards and it was exactly the super smooth texture that I was hoping for. I am legit blown away and will likely keep using this semi-regularly – maybe every two weeks or so, haven’t decided how often yet… but I’ll definitely use this before any special events like Christmas, going out with my husband, etc. It’s just too easy and effective not to.
So anyway, that was my favorite find. I also really loved reading through the “clean” award winners because I’m always looking for some new alternatives to try and some of the items were at a great price-point, so I’ll definitely be trying a few of those.
I hope you find something fun to read in this list – and if you do find something to try, I hope it works super well for you!
And at the very least …. I hope you can pour yourself a warm cup of something you love and take 15 minutes to yourself to just skim through and enjoy this list. We could all use a little break in our days. 🙂
Wishing you a happy weekend!
