How’s your weekend looking? This weekend I’m looking forward to some down-time after a long dentist appt on Saturday afternoon that I am definitely not looking forward to … but hopefully will feel good to have crossed off my list (fingers-crossed 😉 ). On the bright side, my sister-in-law and I have plans to take pictures of my son and nephew together as part of some Christmas gifts, so I’m so excited for that! Having my nephew nearby and seeing him and Michael grow up together is by far one of my favorite things 🙂
Now onto today’s favorite! It’s a podcast episode – it was my favorite podcast of the week, and probably one of my favorite listens of the year!
It’s the Jerry Seinfeld interview on the Tim Ferriss podcast (episode #485).
What I loved about the interview is that Seinfeld went deep into different parts of his life and into how they’ve contributed to his success. He talks in-depth about his writing process, which was probably my favorite part. I think hearing from any great writer – be it a comedian, a novel writer or any other type of writer, is so reasurring because they admit writing is a slog even for them…and that is super reassuring to any writer. If you write in any capacity, I think you’ll definitely enjoy that part. 😉
It was a pretty long interview, so they talk about lots of different topics. I don’t want to spoil too much … so I’ll just say I don’t think I’ve heard another long interview with him, at least not in a while… so it was a real treat. If you’re a fan of Seinfeld or Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, or his stand-up, then you’d probably love this interview. Also, if you’re a Seinfeld fan, it turns out he just came out with his first book in 25 years that features his best material from the last 5 decades in comedy. It’s called “Is This Anything.”
If you’re interested, you can listen to episode #485 of the Tim Ferris episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or your favorite podcast platform. Hope you enjoy it!
